Body Resonant Music

What Makes Body Resonant Music Different?

Body Resonant Music is unique because it is composed, played and produced in such a way that the spiritual energies of the nine Soultypes are conveyed.  It emerged from a new kind of tuning and collaboration  process among Alan Sheets and Barbara Tovey,  the cofounders of New Equations, and certified New Equations teacher Siv Roland, an accomplished musician, conductor and pianist.

This distinctive synergy of physical preparation and music tuned to work in harmony with the body brings something new to the world. Listening to this music directly stimulates each Movement Center. By allowing the music to flow into your body while bringing your attention to the corresponding center, you can begin to experience the spiritual energy of that Soultype.

Body Resonant Music is:

-recorded in each of the nine Body Resonant Frequencies™

-composed and performed while a Movement Center™ is activated

-recorded in Pythagorean tuning

-produced with a process that retains the power of the Body Resonant Frequencies and Pythagorean tuning

Body Resonant Music is composed and played using instruments tuned to a specific Body Resonant Frequency.  Contemporary music is tuned relative to the note A, which is standardized to be 440 Hz, and uses a mathematical average called the equal temperament to specify individual notes within an octave.  Each of the nine Body Resonant Frequencies is tuned to a different, lower frequency for A, and uses the more natural Pythagorean tuning to adjust the spacing between the notes.

Music that is played in these lowered frequencies using the Pythagorean tuning stimulates the Movement Center allowing spiritual energy to flow directly into the body.

Pythagorean Tuning is an ancient musical tuning in which the frequency relationships of all intervals are based on the ratio 3:2 (perfect fifths.)  Pythagorean tuning is in harmony with nature and the body.

Soultype is a term that is used with a number; for example, “Soultype 7.”  In this way the location of a persona’s Movement Center is identified (a Soultype 7′s movement center is located at their forehead.)  Because Soultype is associated with a spiritual energy, the word soul is used.

Movement Center refers to one of nine specific locations in the body that, when stimulated, helps the spiritual energy of the Soultype associated with that center to flow within the body.

Postures of Strength (shown below) were discovered by Alan and Barbara in 1994.  These nine postures were observed by Alan and Barbara during a time when they were researching the extraordinary strength and sense of well-being that people attained when the flow of spiritual energy intensified in their bodies.
