What is a soultype?

Soultype, often abbreviated as ST,  is the term we use to identify the nine energy and movement centers in the human body. It is also used to specify which of those nine centers a person is born with as their naturally activated center, which determines where all of their movement initiates from, what their natural strengths are and how they experience the world.  For example, if a person moves from their throat, he or she is referred to as a Soultype 1 or ST 1; if the base of the spine is a person’s movement center, they are referred to a Soultype 8 or ST 8, and so on.  Although the human body contains all of these centers, only one center is highly functional and activated. Your movement center affects how your body responds to the environment, how your body moves, your facial expression, the sound of your voice, etc.

The soultypes and each corresponding movement center:

Soultype 1: Top of the Throat

Soultype 2: Solar Plexus

Soultype 3: Upper Sternum

Soultype 4: Lower Abdomen

Soultype 5: Top of the Head

Soultype 6: Center of the Sternum

Soultype 7: Forehead/Third Eye

Soultype 8: Base of the Spine/Sacrum

Soultype 9: Between the Shoulder Blades

How do I find out my soultype?

Because your soultype is part of your fundamental physical makeup, discovering which one is yours is also a physical process.

We are currently not offering any programs that solely focus on an individual’s own soultype.  We have learned over the past year that while each person has one dominant energy center, it is far more important and meaningful to learn about and activate all nine energy centers.  Learning about all nine enables you to start to experience the gift that each aspect of the soul brings to the world and helps complete you as a human being. You can begin this process by attending New Equations workshops or by working independently with a New Equations Certified Teacher. You can then register for workshops in which you will discover your own soultype.

So far, there are two ways to reliably determine a person’s soultype:

1) an in-person, hand-to-hand physical soultyping experience with a trained and certified practitioner of New Equations

2) review by a trained and certified practitioner of video and/or other media sources, such as photos or recordings, that consistently demonstrate the physical expression of the soultype.

We have found that soultyping oneself is not reliable and people are usually unsuccessful when they try to figure it out without professional assistance. Reading about the soultypes or learning about them by any means that has to do with thinking or logical reasoning usually does not work.

However, all kinds of written, recorded and visual resources are available to help you understand the gifts of each soultype. In this way you can develop your understanding of the many ways in which people bring the gift of the soul to humanity. This is what is most important.  The cofounders of New Equations, students, and New Equations community are committed to making as much information available as possible to everyone so that the wisdom of the nine soultypes can be consciously known and utilized in the world.

Do I need to know my soultype to access these resources in my body or to benefit from New Equations?

You benefit whether or not you know your own soultype.  For instance, knowing that there are nine different types of human beings and experiencing their differences changes everything – this can open you up to accepting ways of being that may seem strange or ineffective.  Human beings are different from each other and unique in ways not previously known or considered.  Learning about how each soultype is expressed, and what the contributions are, creates a broader and more exciting expectation.

We have found that it is possible to begin to access the gifts and perceptions of all the soultypes through a physical process of activating the movement centers.  You will not become another soultype, but by tapping into the world of another soultype you will become more whole and more available to people and the world around you.  The New Equations community is actively creating ways to make these physical practices available to everyone, so that all these natural resources can be accessed by humanity.  We will be sharing much more about that.

What can I expect to learn at a New Equations workshop?  Why would I attend a workshop?
You will learn about the nine facets of your spiritual nature.  You will learn how to use your body to awaken those different energy centers, which is the first step toward activating them. This will give you a clearer experience of yourself and others.

Who can attend a New Equations workshop?
New Equations workshops are open to everyone; if you are under 18 years of age, you will need parental permission.

What is required to attend a New Equations workshop?  Are there prerequisites?
There are no prerequisites to attend a New Equations workshop unless specifically stated for that workshop.

What if I have physical limitations or disabilities?
Please contact the teacher listed for the workshop you wish to attend. They will talk with you about what modifications of the program may be possible to ensure that you have a good experience at the workshop.

If I have already attended a New Equations workshop, what is next?
There is always so much more to learn from each energy center and from the New Equations work as a whole.  Like a martial art or yoga, the more you practice and the more you practice in community, the better you will become at accessing and using the energy from each of the nine centers.  Also, because this work is constantly changing and evolving, our workshops change too.

There are several options available to you:
- attend another workshop to learn more
- arrange to meet with a New Equations Certified Teacher and work one-on-one.
- continue to check back with this website to see what other workshops and opportunities for training are available.

I’ve already been soultyped—why would I attend a workshop?
Learning your soultype is just part of the whole of what New Equations offers.  As New Equations has evolved, we have discovered that awakening all nine energy centers in the body allows you to more effectively use the wisdom of your own soul in connection with the whole of humanity.

Can you create a workshop for my organization, my school/college or my community?
Absolutely!  Please contact a New Equations Certified Teacher and they will be glad to design a workshop for you.

Yes, teachers are certified and continue to train with the co-founders and participate in the development of New Equations. Please contact a New Equations Certified Teacher for more information.

Are there scholarships available?
There are no scholarships available at this time.  We intend to offer scholarships in the future.   The New Equations Foundation is in the process of establishing criteria and application steps for these scholarships.
